Master Gardener plant sale

The Master Gardener plant sale has not been scheduled for 2021 due to Covid-19

This year’s Shelby County Master Gardener Association plant sale will be Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension office, 1117 Frankfort Road. The sale features perennials, biennials, shrubs and vines grown  locally by Master Gardeners. Also, herbs and other annuals will be available. In addition, various vendors will offer plants and other gardening-related items, including heirloom tomato plants and the ever-popular Shelby County High School FFA fern sale. The kids grow the ferns, annuals and vegetable plants in their FFA greenhouse and offer them at very reasonable prices. We’ll also have lunch and breakfast available.

All proceeds are used by Master Gardeners to maintain and purchase plants for the Tim McClure Botanical Gardens.

Also, that same day here at Extension, Shelby County Homemakers will have their used book sale. It’s a great opportunity to get used books at an almost-free price. And the funds are used to support local 4-H Youth go to Camp during the summer via Scholarship funds.
